Cody Darden

My name is Cody Darden, and elk hunting has been a part of my life since I was 12 years old. Born and raised in the mountains of St. Maries, I have spent my entire life exploring the forests, ridges, and backcountry of North Idaho. Growing up in elk country gave me the opportunity to develop a deep respect for the outdoors and a passion for pursuing elk that continues to drive me today.

Over the years, I dedicated countless hours to learning elk behavior, scouting habitat, and improving my hunting skills through firsthand experience in the field. Like many hunters, I was always looking for ways to become more effective and gain a better understanding of how elk communicate.

That pursuit led me to Rockie Jacobsen, one of the most respected elk callers and educators in the industry. For the past four years, I have had the privilege of learning directly under Rockie, studying elk vocalizations, calling techniques, and the finer details of elk behavior. His mentorship has helped shape my understanding of elk hunting and has given me knowledge that only comes from years of experience and dedication to the craft.

Today, I continue to build on those lessons every season, combining a lifetime of hunting the mountains of North Idaho with the knowledge I’ve gained through Rockie’s mentorship. My passion for elk hunting is rooted in a constant desire to learn, improve, and share that knowledge with other hunters who share the same love for the outdoors.
